What is Architecture Channel all about?
Architecture Channel aims to create a dominant free internet-based resource for all participants in the architecture decision chain. Architects, Interior Designers and Building Contractors can all display a significant portfolio of their work free of charge, enabling other firms and potential clients to search, shortlist and examine the work of   prospective suppliers in a highly visual environment under the practices' own control at all times. Our aim is to build a working database of over 100,000 self-administered projects by 2008 - making it the most comprehensive international resource of its type anywhere.
Why is this valuable?
Because the architecture and interior design industries are notoriously under-served by intermediation resources such as online directories. Word of mouth is still a principle reference criteria, but becuase many firms have sub-standard websites there is little opportunity for clients to review and compare firms' work in a high quality environment at an early stage of the decision making process.   We believe that most directories offer little to either party - giving little more than a practice's contact details and an image (for which the firm ususally pays extra), they add little or no value to the decision making process for the searcher.
Who owns the copyright to all the projects and images loaded onto the site?
At all times the copyright of any material placed on the Architecture Channel site by a registered account holder remains the property of the account holder. The account holder has full control at all times and is free to add, edit or delete their content without notice. For this reason Architecture Channel is equipped with easy to use management   controls which allows firms to "turn on" or "turn off" any project or images within a project without actually removing it or reloading it onto the system - such content will simply sit inactive within the account.
It claims to be free - is this really true?
Architecture Channel is aiming to build an unparalleled international resource of project data and for this reason it must be free at the point of use. We offer a certain number of projects within the free package, and beyond this firms pay for additional projects.

Alternatively practices can upgrade their account to the full Acefolio software which offers additional marketing tools such as publishing the portfolio and other assets (PDFs, news articles etc) to their own website in a different design format as well generating slick branded digital brochures.
