| practice statement: |
John Pardey established his practice in 1988 as a sole trader whilst teaching at several schools of architecture. The practice re-launched in 2000 as John Pardey Architects and now employs 15 staff. Commissions have grown over the years and perhaps most recognised is our architecture in the residential and educational sectors. We have undertaken numerous private house commissions ranging from refurbishment with extensions to large new build private houses and residential developments. In a rapidly changing world with pressure on urban re-generation and infrastructure improvements in city centres, large mixed-use schemes and master planning have become another important field of work. The educational sector is one of the most developing fields of architecture in our time - this is today recognised and encouraged by both local and national government. We have extensive experience designing primary schools and have also designed university buildings. |

| practice description: | We seek to create exciting and interesting work conditions where talented individuals with high ideals, sharing our aims and objectives, are attracted to be part of our team. We encourage creativity, skill sharing, skill development and teamwork. Our practice allows people the freedom and flexibility to use their skills to the full. Based on a converted farm in the New Forest, the relatively small size of the practice enables a non-hierarchical organisation allowing a fluent design process and an involvement of a director and associate at all levels of the process. This enables us to provide a very personalised service to our clients, ensuring a successful service from inception to design and construction to completion. |
